Ethan has the distinction of being the senior paralegal in client relations. He is originally from Massachusetts and graduated from George Washington University in 2007. He studied international affairs and geography at GW and played Ultimate Frisbee and Volleyball. In his free time, Ethan plays the trombone in local bands but refuses to bring one to work.
Property Damage Department
Davaughn is the senior property damage paralegal. Originally a client with the office, he now has over 7 years of experience assisting clients with their claims. Davaughn is a DC area native and graduated from Westwood College with a degree Criminal Justice. He enjoys spending his free time taking care of his baby girl, working on automobiles, and producing music. If you have a question in the office, Davaughn has the answer.
Marcelo is originally from La Paz, Bolivia and majored in International Studies. He worked for Maryland Governor O’Malley’s 2012 re-election campaign and is a Politics/ history/ museum junkie. Likes include studying the Ethiopian legal system, playing tennis, war movies and working for attorney Stevens. Dislikes are Univision/ Telemundo and tortfeasors.
Property Damage Department
Caleb heads the Investigations and Liabilities Unit in the office. Originally from Black Mountain, North Carolina he is currently working towards a degree in Justice from American University. Caleb became part of the team in September 2015 and continues to be essential in day-to-day operations. Caleb spends his free time eating and drinking his way through DC, never missing an excuse to go out. Go Tarheels!
Jeremy has the unique distinction of having lived in eight states and two countries, including: Arizona, South Carolina, Florida, Connecticut, Oregon, Colorado, New York, Virginia, and Beijing, China. A fluent Mandarin speaker, he attended The Taft School in Watertown, CT prior to matriculating to Reed College in Portland, where he majored in Political Science. In the years following his undergraduate education, Jeremy moved to New York City to pursue his passion for cooking. Jeremy subsequently earned a culinary degree from The French Culinary Institute and proceeded to work as a cook at two critically acclaimed Michelin Starred restaurants. Jeremy joined the DRS team in December 2015, after deciding to pursue an interest in a legal career, and we have been lucky to have him ever since!
Kat graduated from Liberty High School in Fauquier County, VA before attending Virginia Commonwealth University where she majored in Political Science and Communication of the Masses. While at college Kat’s hobbies included basketball, skiing, swimming and attending many, many Phish shows. Kat worked at Outback Steakhouse throughout college where she slung steaks to blood-thirsty carnivores, eventually leading her to become a vegetarian. After college, Kat moved to Charlottesville, VA where she worked as a bartender in a smoke-filled dive bar where the infamous Dave Matthews got his start working and playing music. After working for a year, Kat moved to Washington, DC to kick-start her career. She has been a paralegal at the firm for almost a year with plans to go to law school after winning the lottery.
Jeremy “JJ” Neff
JJ joined the DRS litigation department after graduating from George Washington University with the highest honors. Hailing from Palo Alto, he brings his own personal sunshine to the office. Outside of civil litigation, JJ enjoys acting and directing theater, discussing political theory, and rooting for the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Connor is a city boy, born and raised in South Detroit. He graduated from the University of Pittsburgh in 2015, majoring in Political Science and studying abroad in both Cuba and Costa Rica. Connor joined the office in October of 2016 after dedicating (too much) time studying for the LSAT. He is an amateur herpetologist and likes to take breaks exploring the mean streets of Georgetown in the afternoon. Outside of work, Connor enjoys learning to sail on the Potomac, quoting The Big Lebowski and Office Space , and finds pleasure in his quixotic adventure to abolish the Designated Hitter from all levels of baseball. He admits to both being from New Jersey and rooting in vain for the New York Mets.
After spending a year and a half mastering the art of coffee with Starbucks, David joined the hard-working lawyer’s team in November of 2016. He graduated from American University with a degree in Criminal Justice and a minor in Communication. David has been playing the piano for 17 years and the Rockband guitar controller for 1. When not working, David spends his free time filming and taking photos, playing baseball, or fulfilling his life-long dream of making a fan-made Star Wars movie. As evidenced by the various hats he wears, David is from Seattle and a serious Seahawks and Mariners fan.
After growing up in beautiful central Jersey, Zach migrated south to attend the University of South Carolina, earning his bachelor’s degrees in French and Political Science. A recent DC transplant, Zach is pursuing his Master’s degree in business and international affairs. Zach has held a variety of positions before joining the DRS litigation department, including as a tennis instructor, English teacher in France, and shift manager at the best ice cream shop in New Jersey. On his days off, Zach can be found on a tennis court, golf course, boat, or beach, but probably on the couch.
